MECA new service and spare parts supplier for the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV)

MECA has signed an exclusive cooperation agreement with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration and will be the supplier of spare parts and maintenance services for the Administration’s vehicles. The agreement extends over a two-year period.
From 29 April 2014, MECA will provide spare parts for FMV’s approximately 4,000 standard vehicles up to 3,500 kg, as well as for light trailers. The agreement also entails that MECA will provide FMV with such maintenance as servicing, repairs, glass repairs, AC/climate and collection/delivery service.

Such an agreement can ultimately generate new work shops that are interested in MECA’s concept and want to become affiliated with us,” says Pehr Oscarson, President of MECA Scandinavia.
The agreement has a duration of two years and FMV may extend the agreement for an additional two years, until 2018. The assignment entails a turnkey commitment governed by the prevailing operational requirements.
“For the past few years, FMV has been focusing on further developing its purchasing operation based on a category-based procurement model aimed at reducing total costs and improving control efficiency and follow-up opportunities. Accordingly, FMV has decided to procure a central agreement with a logistics party that will maintain the light standard vehicle fleet in the coming agreement period.
